Top 5: Natural Hair Problems

Real life NATURAL HAIR problems:

Fairy Knots: These knots typically appear on natural hair strands that are tightly coiled (4a, 4b, 4c) hair. The hair strand wraps around itself to form a single knot. To decrease their appearances: Keep natural hair stretched, Moisturized and Trimmed.

Shrinkage: It is a curly girl problem!! Natural hair tends to revert back to its natural hair state. To minimize natural hair shrinkage: Keep the hair stretched with braids, twists, Bantu knots, w/ curl formers, banding technique, etc.

Dryness: Natural Hair is NATURALLY dry so it is a constant battle keeping the hair moisturized THROUGHOUT the day. To increase moisture retention: Water, Water, Water! Sealing with butters, heavy creams, coconut oil &/or castor oil! Adopting the LOC method!

Product Junkie: We have all be here!! Sooo many natural hair products on the market claim to provide a particular service or "look"! No quick cure: RESEARCH before you purchase. Take advantage of giveaways and try product samples before making a commitment to purchase. KNOW WHAT YOUR NATURAL HAIR LOVES!!

Tangles: Ouch! They will appear, due to our head shedding an average of 100 hairs a day. If you fail to detangle--this will increase one's chances of tangles or large knots. To decrease tangles: Detangle with fingers (first), wide tooth comb or w/ a proper plastic detangling brush--OFTEN. Keep the hair stretched!
